Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Barnet Street, Powell River, BC

Historically, there had been no accessible access to the door of the RCMP detachment without unsafely going on a busy road, driveway, or grass. A sidewalk with letdowns linking to a nearby crosswalk has been installed to allow for safe crossing and access to an important community service.

The Grandview Heights Aquatic Center is very accessible. It has a Gold certification from the Rick Hansen Foundation and a Sensory Friendly Space per the Canucks Autism Network. In addition to accessibility features in the built structure, I've found staff and other patrons are friendly, welcoming and helpful.
