UVic created a program to hire and train students with severe and complex disabilities to be accessibility testers for our digital products such as apps and websites. These students also help to find and report barriers in our physical landscape. The students benefit by having well paid work that values their lived experience as well as a direct connection to staff who can help them. UVic benefits by being able to catch and fix problems before they cause complaints or IT Support tickets.
