Step 1: Determine Status

The first thing you need to do is find out if you are a Prescribed Organization and the deadlines set for you to meet the requirements of the Act.

You can search for the name of your organization on this list by typing part of your name in the box under the column titled Name and clicking the Search button.

Phase 2 (Sept. 1, 2024) Organizations and Others

If you aren’t required to meet the requirements until Phase 2 (Sept. 1, 2024), you can still start now. In fact, you don’t have to be a Prescribed Organization at all to take advantage of this Guide. Accessibility and inclusion are assets for your organization as they can help you attract staff, make their work environments more amenable, and are welcoming to nearly one quarter of the population of BC that have a disability, as well as the people they travel with, parents using strollers, and even delivery and maintenance people that might be working on your property.
